Heart Rate Zone Calculator

This calculator may be used to determine heart rate training zones. It’s important to note that any determination of training zones is activity specific. For instance, your running-specific heart rate zone will potentially be slightly different than your cycling-specific heart rate zone. If you know your activity-specific threshold heart rate (tHR) you can enter that into the calculator to make the estimation activity-specific. If you do not know your activity-specific threshold heart rate, simply enter your age for general heart rate response zones that can be applied broadly to all activities.

Perceived Exertion

Perceived exertion or rating of perceived exertion is an effective and reliable way to determine and guide activity intensity. My activity-specific training units (ie. active recovery, ultra-specific, aerobic endurance, strength endurance, maximum lactate steady-state) are included to provide a more relevant context.
